Alican Abaci is an award-winning Turkish filmmaker, sociologist, editor, and scuba diver with over 15 years in the filmmaking industry experience.
Alican has worked on feature films, short films, commercials, music videos, festival organizations, events, and voluntary projects as A producer, director, videographer, and editor. Founder of Aw Film Production & Underwater Films.
Alican’s last environmentalist feature documentary film “The Edge of the Cliff” and the previous underwater short film “Only One World Left” which focuses on single used plastic effects to the oceans selected over 40 festivals in 20 different countries and won awards.
Alican Abacı is graduated from Mediterranean University Fine Arts Cinema&TV department and Anatolian University Sociology Department with a second degree.
Lived and studied for one year in Australia as a Rotary Exchange Student in the Media Department of the Newcastle University of Australia.
Studied in the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in the Cinema department in Milan an exchange student, Italy for one year.
Worked as a volunteer videographer in Barcelona as European Voluntary Service. This project won the best storytelling award in the European Parliament of Strasbourg in 2018.
Also been in the Czech Republic, Spain, United Arab Emirates, USA, Germany in filmmaking competitions, workshops, and film festivals as an organizer and competitor.
